Simple. Sweet. The mason jar.

The simple charm that comes from having mason jars around is off the charts! The mason jar is one of those things that screams down home, simple country charm. Its perfect for my country chic wedding. Theres going to be lace, burlap, wood accents, string lights, wildflowers, and of course, mason jars. The epitome of a country vintage-y weddings, thats what I think anyway!

These ideas I absolutely love:  Simple. Charming. Gotta have it.

The Beginings

My blog is going to be everything country and everything girly. Girly but country? Yes, it makes sense. I should name it Burlap and Lace, but I think there is already a website that has claimed that name! :(

I grew up in a little farming town outside Roswell,NM and lived there until I was 5. So, that was the extent of my country-ness for a while. The parents divorced and my mom and I moved to town and not long after my dad moved to Santa Fe(we are on good terms :) ). My mom re-married and she bought about 5 acres north of town and made her casa into a great dwelling. Chickens, a pasture in the back, green back and front yards, etc. Its beautiful! So, needless to say, my last years of high school I was getting back into the country groove when I didnt care about it not being "cool" anymore!
I still had my girly side. My favorite color was pink, I lived in an apartment with my best friend who was gay, and had my closet filled with stilettos.
The day I met my fiance Trey, was the day that I knew country was going to be my final lifestyle. I first saw him and he was tall (6'3"), brownish blondish hair, blue eyes, black cowboy hat and those tight jeans. I was awe struck! He brought back my country girl, outdoorsy side and it has stuck ever since. My favorite color went from pink to turquoise and my shoes went from heels to boots. What can I say?
